The Maid of the Loch

The Maid of The Loch is a historical paddle steamer which is moored in Balloch, just a few short steps from us. The boat, which first set  sail on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond in 1953, was the largest  pleasure cruiser of it’s era.  A popular tourist attraction, you can  climb aboard the vessel and admire it’s stunning vintage interior.  Drawing in thousands of visitors every year, the Maid of the Loch  offers dramatic views of Ben Lomond from her three different deck levels .

The Maid could carry 1,000 passengers in her heyday and still could! A dedicated group of volunteers are currently focused on restoring the boat to operating condition and bringing the Maid of the Loch back to her former glory.

Visit the Tearoom on board which serves an assortment of hot and cold snacks, tea and coffee. Enjoy freshly prepared paninis, sandwiches and toasties. Tuck in to delicious ice cream on a hot, sunny day or indulge in an assortment of scrumptious home baked cakes. Gluten free Victoria Sponge and chocolate brownies are also on the menu. You can also choose from a variety of souvenirs on display aboard the ship.
