GOOD Based on 164 reviews Posted on Andy FVerified Excellent Lunch We called at Balloch just to break a long road journey and get some petrol. We didn't know anywhere, so just picked this unprepossessing place at random. We were very pleasantly surprised. The welcome was warm and the service charming. Apart from bar drinks there was proper coffee available (I was driving). Food was straightforward with a few specials. I had the soup of the day (lentil) and it was excellent, served with a warm crusty roll. Prices very reasonable. An excellent lunch.Posted on Inishbofin2016Verified Pleasant, comfortable and friendly Pleasant, spacious, comfortable room. Ours was at the back, and given the warm weather with windows open, there was a minor issue with mild ventilator noise (only during the day, not at night) from the kitchen and cooking smells (not unpleasant! but for anyone particularly sensitive, a room at the front might be better, and the street is quiet at night). Very friendly staff. It's not a B&B, rooms are reserved on a room-only basis. The restaurant downstairs serves breakfast, fries, toast, scones, etc. but nothing fresh like yoghurts or fruit or cereals. It opens at 9.30, which can be a bit late if you need to get moving. There are other places nearby to get a breakfast roll or similar at an earlier hour, but finding any fresh healthy breakfast options in Balloch proved very complicated! Better to have your own fruit etc. if you need that (we went to the nearby Co-op which is only a couple of minutes walk away) but there's no mini-fridge in the room for storing yoghurts or milk. Otherwise, tea & scones in the restaurant were lovely! Balloch proved to be a great base for exploring Loch Lomond. Being without a car, we took a local bus to Balmaha, and walked a stretch of the West Highland Way from there to Rowardennan, beautiful. But there are also lovely walks around the lake starting directly from Balloch.Posted on Skipton_TravellerVerified Good central location. Easy parking. Generally OK. Good central location. Reasonably sized room. Clean. I found the bed quite comfortable, but my wife didn’t, and as it was a double that can only be personal taste. Check in via the bar, and they helped with luggage. Managed to get a parking space right outside, but there is also a car park across the road with 2 EV chargers. Restaurant was closed the night we were there. Didn’t have breakfast. Nice walk to the edge of the Loch quite close by. A one night stay which We would have no issue repeating.Posted on Michele AllanVerified 10/10 staff Our 4th time staying in waterhouse inn & would highly recommend, Staff are so welcoming very obliging nothing is a bother, the accommodation is 100% spotless from rooms to restaurant & lounge, ...the food is the best 👌 best place in balloch to stayPosted on mhaurlklVerified Drop In just for the hospitality Now we only stopped in for a late breakfast and a tea an coffee. greeted and seated with a smile and welcome. It was a quite time but service was still attentive must not pushy. Our breakfast was prepared in a timely manner and was fresh and hot. This is a nice spot in town as there is always something to watch. I peered into the Pub which looked warm and country. Great place for our impromptu breakfast stop/Posted on Resort04111815086Verified Lovely Inn! We popped in for breakfast before going on a boat trip on Loch Lomond. Luckily we found this little gem! A lovely inn with a varied breakfast menu that caters for all. We had a fantastic Scottish breakfast and received great service at a very reasonable price. Well worth a visit!Posted on Trish WVerified Excellent Value and comfortable stay. Friendly staff Parking...Easy, we got a spot right outside. Just opposite is a free carpark if required. Check in was through the bar where we met Wing the Barman who showed us where our room was and offered help with luggage. Room was clean and comfortable. It had tea and coffee making facilities. A hairdryer. Mirror over the dressing table . A long dress mirror. Built in wardrobes. Small TV but not something we use. A few toiletries and towels. In the hallway there was an iron and ironing board if required. We had a drink or Three in the bar with Wing serving (Good luck with your sponsored walk) and a few local guys, Dougie and Alex (plus another whose name I can't recall sorry) Seriously, you all added to our stay. A fun night was had! Take recommendations on where to eat from locals before you waste money! Accomodation is on the doorstep to Balloch Castle (currently undergoing work/ closed) and it's beautiful walks in Balloch Park which is on the banks of Loch Lomond. As for getting around, we visited West side of the Loch up to Falls of Falloch. Stunning. Plus a boat trip from Tarbet to Inversnaid ( there are trips available from Balloch too) We ate at Balloch House(Not great!) Caffe by the Loch , long wait but friendly staff and good snacks. Princess Rose Chinese , a bit pricey but such good food in a lovely modern refurbished restaurant. (With a fab wine list!) Partner had a breakfast at Waterhouse Inn that he enjoyed too. Brilliant start to our holiday! Thanks to all at The Waterhouse InnPosted on JJBVerified Centrally-located Inn Very decent Inn located a stone throw between the rail station and bus station. Very comfortable room. Clean and spacious. We were right above the pub, facing the main road but were not the least bothered by any noise. The only drawback was food was not served on the night we stayed (a Monday). Not sure if this is because of post-Covid or seasonal arrangement. But the very friendly Mr. Tsang suggested very good alternatives nearby. Will stay here if we happen to be in Balloch again.

We were travelling back from Oban to East field BC in Dumbarton. Stopped here for lunch and a few drinks. The hospitality was excellent, food most enjoyable washed down with a good variety of drinks. A first class choice from our organiser.Posted on Meg DTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A super cute inn right on the main drag of Balloch. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Check in staff were nice. We hung out in the lounge at night and chatted with some locals and the bartender, very kind folks all around! We were just in for the one day, but I'd have been happy to stay longer!Posted on Alicia CalahorraTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
